When Anne Frank was thirteen, she received a diary for her birthday.

It was her favourite present and she couldn’t wait to start writing in it. But just a few weeks later thirteen-year-old Anne’s world was turned upside down. German Nazi soldiers invaded her country and Anne’s family were forced to hide away from everyone and everything the knew and loved.

Over the next two years Anne’s diary became her only friend. She wrote everything down, from her daily routine in the Secret Annexe to her hopes and dreams of becoming a famous writer one day…
