Published to coincide with a major exhibition, this study of Scandinavian painting of the 1920s and 1930s includes 140 works assembled from the national galleries of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, and from other Scandinavian public and private collections. The volume is organized by country, and each section is prefaced with an essay by a national art authority. Biographies of the individual artists accompany the full-page color reproductions of their works.
