As they waited for the verdict they felt optimistic. After all, this was Greece, the birthplace of democracy and the cradle of Christianity. The only thing that could possibly stand in their way was and archaic law passed over 46 years ago by a fascist dictator. And the possibility of a guilty verdict based on it was very remote.
